Not to burst your bubble but Microcenter has 250 GB SSDs - the inland brand for $25. I picked up 2 last week for boot drives in projects.

I don’t want to live in this universe where samsung, lambo, and Porsche make Evos but Mitsubishi fucking doesn’t.

I have purchased at least two of those Inland drives, and d uring my testing I found them to be rather slow with inconsistent performance. I have since downgraded those drives to tertiary service where their poor read and write speeds won’t really impact much. As I found out the hard way, there are very good reasons why those drives are so cheap, and thus I will be sticking to the name brand products despite my love of a good deal.

So true, sadly...

SSDs make a CRAZY performance difference in a lot of stuff and OS boot times. I have to get one for my laptop at some point...the OS drive in my desktop is a Samsu
ng exactly like yours though!

I cannot fathom going back. It's like when we moved from cassettes to CDs - such a huge difference that the old way is instantly obsolete.

Nice price. I just spent $36 for a 240gb crucial bx500, for my Linux netbook project.

I’ve always had good luck with them. They’re usually ju st cheap boot drives for me. The last two I bought are going in servers, one an Ubuntu Docker host and the other my new storage server.
If it's going in a daily driver like my main desktop or laptop it's gets a Samsung NVME drive though.
